From July 30th - August 8th 2010 the Mount Snow area towns of Wilmington, Whitingham and Dover will all be seen in a shade of blue.
Vermont's annual Deerfield Valley Blueberry Festival, a week-long celebration of anything and everything involving blueberries, will include not only berries, but vintage cars, live music, pie-eating contests, blueberry bingo and a parade. One thing's for sure, if it's blue, it will be seen on display during this fun-filled time!
The 3rd annual 2010 Blueberry Festival is truly a community effort, but coordinated by Janet Boyd from Boyd Family Farm in Wilmington and the Mount Snow Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Blue-themed events and activities presented by area businesses, organizations and individuals can be seen during the first ten days of August. "It's fun, it's silly, and something everyone can take part in," Boyd says of the festival.
There are events for everyone: -Marlboro Music Festival -classic car and motorcycle cruise-in -blueberry wine, beer, vodka, and juice -an ecology hike -PJ party and story time -Revolutionary war Living History demo -Wilmington Baptist Church supper -blueberry block party -berry growing workshop -Grace Cottage Hospital Fair day -special discounts at Mount Snow's golf course -Mount Snow triathalon -and of course pick-your-own blueberries!
