Start dieting. Right now. You'll need all the spare room you can spare in your belly this weekend when the Taste of the Deerfield Valley takes over the Rte. 100 corridor.
WHAT: The 5th annual Taste of the Deerfield Valley WHEN: September 10 - 12, 2010 WHERE: Stretching from Mount Snow to the center of Wilmington along Rte. 100 WHAT: FOOD!, tastings, live music, local wine and beer, shopping, celebrity cooking demonstrations, much more WHY: Good food and friends - what else do you need?
Talk around town is that Celebrity Chef Myron Mixon's cooking demonstration is going to be a highlight. Judging by the video below, this guy is serious about BBQ, and looking mean while glaring down at cameras with his arms crossed. We've also heard he has a BBQ "Battlewagon" trailer that will be in town. Any man who does battle with his food, well we have to see this to believe it.
Restaurants all along Rte. 100 will have their doors open, offering special menus and beer and wine pairings. Hermitage Inn, Maple Leaf Brewery, River Valley Market, The Roadhouse, Sitzmark and many other restaurants will be serving up one-of-a-kind dishes like "herbed risotto cake with local highland beef short ribs" (from Wilmington Inn and Tavern).
For a full schedule of events and admission prices, visit Celebrate the Valley's website. You can even purchase tickets online.
Of course, if you need a place to stay, we have several houses for rent at Chimney Hill. And believe us, you'll need some deep sleep after all the great food you'll be enjoying this weekend.
